The bow fires up the fiddle... the sparks fly with exciting music, visual feasts and highly poetic songs rousing the spirit and defying the audience to sit still. Straight from Nova Scotia, Grand Dérangement is a high-energy Acadian step-dance and fiddling group that delivers a stunning combination of Celtic, rock and folk music. The name, meaning "great disturbance," refers to the expulsion of the French Acadians from Canada in 1755, but also refers to the group's desire to "rouse the audience." Their strength today symbolizes the power of a group to hold on to its culture despite overwhelming odds. Don't miss this inspiring show where Acadian culture ignites the stage!
